Carer Council Tax discounts
If someone lives in your home as a carer to look after a household member you may be eligible for a discount.
Conditions
If the carer is full-time, they must:
- be resident in the home where they are providing the care
- not be the spouse or partner of the cared for person or the parent where the cared for person is under 18
- provide care for more than 35 hours per week
- the cared for person must be in receipt of one of the state benefits detailed in the application
