Avian flu: dead birds

Avian influenza (bird flu) has been confirmed on the north eastern Scotland coastline, including in Aberdeenshire.

Find out what to do with one or two sick or dead birds on the Scottish Government website.

Please report to Defra by phoning 03459 33 55 77 if you find:

  • 3 or more dead wild waterfowl (for example, swans, geese or ducks)
  • 3 or more dead birds of prey
  • 5 or more dead wild birds of any other species (including gulls)

If you come across 10 or more dead birds along our shoreline, please report this to us. You can record the number, the type and the location.
