Location

Strathbeg sheltered housing is located in the village of Crimond, situated within a quiet residential area. It is close to a local shop, MOT garage, medical centre and coffee shop. The full address is:

There is a bus shop within a short walking distance of Strathbeg, and a regular bus service to the towns of Peterhead and Fraserburgh. Crimond offers the RSPB reserve Loch of Strathbeg, and is four miles from the picturesque Rattray Head Lighthouse, which was built in 1895 and designed by David and Alan Stevenson, the grandsons of Robert Stevenson.

Strathbeg has eleven flats on one level with access to:

Each flat has:

  • double glazing
  • fitted kitchens

Strathbeg is fitted with a door entry system and all properties are connected to the Community Alarm Service.

Activities

Many sheltered housing communities offer opportunities to engage with other tenants and participate in activities. The communal areas such as lounges and gardens provide space tenants can use for relaxation and casual socialising.

Activities vary from community to community, and can include:

  • fish and chip nights
  • bingo
  • dominoes
  • craft clubs
  • concerts

Tenants are regularly consulted regarding future activities and encouraged to contribute suggestions. Available activities will be advertised on the notice board within Strathbeg.
