Greenacres sheltered housing

Greenacres sheltered housing scheme is situated in the rural village of Pitmedden, in the parish of Udny.

The scheme has 11 one bedroom and one two bedroom self-contained flats. All the flats are connected to the community alarm system.

Facilities at the scheme include communal:

  • lounge
  • kitchen
  • laundry
  • a hairdresser visits weekly

A twin guest bedroom is available for visiting friends and relatives to use if they don't live locally.

Both cats and dogs are generally accepted at the scheme.

Regular social activities can be facilitated by the Sheltered Housing Officer which includes:

  • games in the lounge every afternoon with a fly cup
  • weekly coffee mornings
  • fish supper, soup and sweet and bingo once a month
  • entertainment with stovies
  • Chinese night
  • Christmas lunch, Hogmanay party and Burns Supper

Local facilities in Pitmedden include local shops, church, village hall, parks and a primary school. The village is also home to the National Trust for Scotland's Pitmedden Garden and the Formartine United Football Club. Pitmedden is situated midway between Ellon and Oldmeldrum, and approximately 16 miles from Aberdeen.
