Local tenant groups and what they do

Local tenant groups provide help and advice to tenants on housing and community matters. They work together to safeguard and promote the interests of residents in their area on matters concerning housing, the environment and community life.

The simplest way of getting involved would be to go along to one of your local group meetings. Local groups would appreciate your support.

We recognise and support tenant participation and provide financial support for tenant groups.

Tenant groups:

  • are directly consulted on issues affecting tenants
  • have the opportunity to feed in to the Tenants Participation Promotion Team
  • can raise items for discussion at Tenants Participation Promotion Team

The Tenants Participation Promotions Team briefing note is circulated to tenant group office bearers, keeping groups up to date with the issues being discussed and informing them of any new initiatives.
