Children's Hearings Scotland: area convener sought for Aberdeenshire
Children's Hearings Scotland is looking for a volunteer area convener to provider local leadership for the area support team in Aberdeenshire.
The team at Children’s Hearings Scotland recruits, trains and supports empathetic and committed volunteers. The 2,500 volunteer panel members take part in children’s hearings; making decisions with and for infants, children and young people. The network of 22 area support teams provide support to panel members locally.
The group is committed to #KeepThePromise to Scotland’s infants, children and young people. The successful candidate will be joining the team during an exciting period of change as it redesigns the children’s hearings system with partners and people with lived experience.
What will you be doing?
Managing a team of volunteers and developing new ways of working for your area. You’ll be working with local partners, communicating with panel members and leading on national improvements at a local level. You will also make sure that the views of young people are heard and acted upon within your area.
Who are we looking for?
An enthusiastic person who is committed to securing the rights of children and young people. You will be able to lead and be part of a team, a strong communicator and have the ability to listen and respond. You should also be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to and understanding of the ethos, values and principles of Children’s Hearings Scotland.
