Aberdeenshire town centres health checks community and business surveys now live

Ten town centres across Aberdeenshire have benefited from a health check to assess their strengths, weaknesses and resilience.

Over the month of September, on-site analysis has been completed in Banchory, Banff, Ellon, Fraserburgh, Inverurie, Huntly, Peterhead, Stonehaven, Turriff and Macduff by Aberdeenshire Council on a range of factors which look to identify successful town centres and indicate good standards of vitality and viability.

Aberdeenshire Council’s Planning Information and Delivery Team are now looking for the public and businesses to provide views on a number of aspects of their town centres which will build up a clearer picture of the health of a particular town to complement the survey work that is underway by officers.

Paul Macari, Head of Planning and Economy, said: “Regular health checks are used to inform our development plans and decision-making on future planning applications, but they are also vital in monitoring a town centre’s performance which is helpful for determining future investment. I would encourage our communities and the business sector to get involved, make their views known and participate in our engagement process.”
