Views are sought on carers' strategies

Two strategies that support carers are being reviewed and your views are being sought.

Aberdeenshire Council is reviewing its Young Carer Strategy, a plan that supports young carers to sustain their caring role and have a meaningful life alongside caring.

Aberdeenshire Council wants to engage with young carers, those supporting them and anyone with an interest in supporting young carers.

A young carer is anyone under the age of 18 (or 18 if still at school) who cares for a family member or friend due to illness, disability, mental ill-health, alcohol or drug dependency.

Young carers may look after their mum, dad, brother, sister, grandparent, or someone else close to them. They may look after the cared-for person on their own or they may be helped by others.

Your views are important in helping the council identify what it’s doing well and how it can improve support to young carers over the next five years.

This survey will take about 10 minutes to complete and will close at 11.59pm on September 22. To take part, visit https://engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/young-carers

Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership (AHSCP) is reviewing its Adult Carer Strategy - the plan of what it does to support adult carers.

To take part, visit https://engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/adult-carers

AHSCP want to engage with adult carers, those supporting them and anyone with an interest in supporting adult carers. This survey is for adult carers.

An adult carer (sometimes referred to as an unpaid carer) is anyone aged 18 and over who cares for a family member or friend due to illness, disability, mental ill-health, alcohol or drug dependency.

The adult carer may look after the cared-for person on their own or they may be helped by others.

If you would like to be entered into the draw for a chance to win an Amazon voucher, please provide your contact email or phone number at the end of the survey.

This survey will take about 10 minutes to complete and will close at 11.59pm on October 6.
