Further improvements for Formartine and Buchan Way

An improvement project which will make it safer and easier for pedestrians and wheeled users to access paths and routes in Ellon is about to get underway.

A replacement ramp is being installed to provide better access to the Formartine and Buchan Way from Hospital Road.

Fully-funded by Nestrans – the regional transport partnership for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire – the works are due to start around January 20 and are expected to take around 5-7 weeks to complete, weather-dependent.

Owing to the nature of the improvements, there will be no access via the existing path during construction.

This project links into Ellon’s Integrated Travel Town programme which focuses on improving links for pedestrians and wheeled users in and around the town.

Previously completed works include improvements to the Riverside Path, Carolinewells Woods and a wealth of additional upgrades along the Formartine and Buchan Way.
