This extension replaces an existing 1980s leaking conservatory on the back of the property. The aim was to maximise natural daylight and the views as well as creating a more useable room for the owners to enjoy. The glazing is detailed to extend up to the underside of the roof, minimising the eaves appearance by concealing the depth of the roof within the structure internally, giving the building a lighter, more elegant appearance.

The judges commented that this is an innovative and ambitious extension which is aesthetically pleasing and has made full use of the sea views. They particularly liked how it had been designed to ensure the neighbours view wasn’t blocked by the creation of an extension.
