Aberdeenshire Doors Open Days Event 2023
Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free festival celebrating the built environment. Through providing free unique viewing opportunities to sites of historic, cultural, architectural and community interest, it aims to increase public appreciation and enjoyment of Scotland’s built heritage and promote inclusion in Scotland’s civic spaces and activities.
Save the date
Aberdeenshire’s annual Doors Open Days event will be hosting a blended event in 2023 giving visitors both physical and online access to buildings across the Shire over the weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September.
The event is coordinated at a national level by the Scottish Civic Trust, and locally by the Historic Environment Team within the Planning and Economy Service. This year, the Scottish Civic Trust are supporting the European Heritage theme for 2023, 'Living Heritage', which refers to the practices, knowledge and skills that have been passed from one generation to the next, and are still in use today. This theme allows Aberdeenshire an excellent opportunity to promote our heritage and culture.
