Naming Ceremonies
A Naming Ceremony is a special way of celebrating your love and commitment to your child. The ceremony is purely secular therefore no religious content is allowed and has no legal standing. It is a unique occasion for family and friends to feel involved and to offer their support in your child’s future development.
All Naming Ceremonies will be personalised according to your requirements and can have:
- Readings
- Promises by parents
- Supporting adults or grandparents
- Reasons for the choice of name
The ceremony can be held within any Aberdeenshire Council Registration Office or at an external venue of your choice, which will be subject to a satisfactory risk assessment.
If you are interested in this kind of ceremony and want further information, please contact us on 01467 468468 or email registrars@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
