Road faults
Report a road, pavement or a roadside issue
We are responsible for repairing and maintaining all public roads in Aberdeenshire.
We are not responsible for:
- Trunk roads, they are maintained by Amey - report an issue with a trunk road:
- A90
- A96
- A92 from Stonehaven Junction to Charleston Junction
- AWPR, it is maintained by Aberdeen Roads Limited - report an issue with AWPR:
- A90 from Stonehaven roundabout to Ellon South roundabout
- A956 from Charleston to Cleanhill roundabout
We carry out regular inspections but defects and other issues can develop between our inspections. Members of the public play an important role in reporting them to us.
What you can report to us
You can report the following issues on the roads we maintain:
- Bridges
- Flooding, drainage and utilities
- Parking
- Pavements and footpaths
- Planning and private developments
- Potholes and road surface
- Road safety
- Street lights
- Traffic lights, signs and bollards
- Trees, grass and vegetation
- Winter and gritting
- Verges, barriers and fences

Emergency issues
Please report the issue by phone if it is an immediate threat to safety. For example:
- Defects or issues that pose an immediate risk to public safety
- Carriageway defects on A roads that are greater than 100mm deep and 400mm wide
- Footway defects on narrow distributor footways that are greater than 20mm deep and 75mm wide
- Overhead cables fallen across the highway
- Structure collapse, for example bridge, culvert, wall, fences, scaffold, hoarding
- Fallen tree or branch blocking part or all the road or path
- Missing ironworks, for example manholes and gully grills
- Damaged pedestrian guardrails likely to cause injury
- Extensive flooding resulting in road being impassable
- Traffic signalled junctions or crossing, all lights out, damaged street lights, traffic signals, lit bollards and lit signs where wires are exposed

If the issue is non-dangerous, then please use our online reporting from. Please don't use the form for emergencies.
