Blue Badge holders

The Scottish Government have produced a leaflet called The Blue Badge scheme: rights and responsibilities. The leaflet includes information about the Blue Badge such as where you can park, when you should return your Blue Badge and other useful information regarding your rights throughout the UK and Europe.

Change of details

Please contact us if you need to change the details on your Blue Badge. 

You can carry on using your old badge until the new one arrives.

If your Blue Badge is expiring

Your Blue Badge is not renewed automatically, so you will need to reapply for a new badge. We recommend doing so 16 weeks before your existing one expires.

It is an offence to use an expired badge.

When a Blue Badge is no longer needed

Please return a Blue Badge to us if:

• a change in your health means you no longer need a Blue Badge
• the owner of the Blue Badge has passed away

Blue Badge fraud or misuse

Using a stolen or fake Blue Badge, or allowing a family member or friend to use a badge without the badge holder in the vehicle, is fraud. Committing Blue Badge fraud can result in a fine of up to £1,000.
