Mental Health Improvement and Wellbeing Service

Get free mental health improvement and wellbeing help and support from our team of dedicated professionals. Our Aberdeenshire Mental Health Improvement and Wellbeing Service aims to give you quicker access to mental health and wellbeing services, with fewer barriers and criteria to overcome.

We are a team of qualified and trained professionals, we are here to support you and get you the help you need. The team is made up of Wellbeing Workers, Senior Workers, and a Team Manager. We work across Aberdeenshire.

Contact this service for help and support if you are:

  • aged over 16
  • struggling with your mental health and wellbeing
  • need a little extra support to get back on track
  • feeling lost
  • suffering with anxiety
  • having family difficulties or relationship issues

How to refer yourself to this service

You can refer yourself to this service.

This service is only available to Aberdeenshire residents. We can’t accept a self-referral if you are already getting care or support from Secondary Care Services including Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work or Community Psychiatric Nursing.

Alternatively you can apply in paper by completing the self-referral form (PDF 150KB) and return it by posting to the address in the self-referral form.

What you can expect

A member of the team will contact you and do an assessment to see how best we can support you. The service we provide will be based on what you want support with. We may work with you over a short period of time to help you feel more in control. We may get you a referral to a service which is better suited to you if you need ongoing and longer-term support.

We can provide:

  • up to 6 weeks of dedicated 1:1 support from one of our team
  • help and support for a range of issues
  • coping strategies and help with managing symptoms
  • support to improve your mood and wellbeing
  • help and support with work stress
  • help and support with relationship or family issues
  • links to community activities
  • help with money worries

We will work to make sure you get the help you need quickly. This means that you will not have to phone lots of places to get the help you need.
