Dalvenie Gardens Very Sheltered Housing
Dalvenie Gardens is a modern, purpose built very sheltered housing complex set in a secluded area in Banchory.
There are 24 one bedroom self-contained flats in a three-storey block.
Each flat has a:
- lounge
- kitchen
- bedroom
- shower room
There is also a respite flat for respite care or short breaks.
The facilities at Dalvenie Gardens include:
- door entry system at the main entrance
- a tenants’ lounge and kitchen
- cooked meals in the resource centre
- a laundry for tenants to use
- an alarm system so tenants can get help in an emergency
- two guest bedrooms for friends and family to use when visiting
Care and support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week based on your individual needs and choice.
The scheme is also linked to a busy resource centre which provides a wide range of activities and services for older people from the local community, as well as services for the tenants who live in Dalvenie. Activities include:
- art classes
- lunch club
- tai chi
- yoga
Groups include:
- heart, chest and stroke group
- lifestyle group
- Raemoir WRI
- deaf awareness
- visually impaired group
- social studies group
Dalvenie Gardens is a joint venture between Aberdeenshire Council and Castlehill Housing Association. Castlehill being the landlords responsible for allocation of flats, rent and maintenance while Aberdeenshire Council manages the very sheltered housing staff and resource centre facilities.
