Aberdeenshire Council Returning Officer and Chief Executive Jim Savege said: “I would like to thank everybody for their fantastic efforts in supporting our election operations across Aberdeenshire, not just at the polling and count yesterday and today, but in the weeks running up to this General Election.
“Co-ordinating an election is a massive undertaking for local authorities and it has taken another tremendous team effort from Aberdeenshire Council staff and volunteers to make it happen. I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported our polling places across the region, who transported the ballot boxes and everyone involved in the count process at P&J Live which we shared with Aberdeen City Council.”
