The closing date for entries is August 31 and the winner will be announced in September.

Emma Stanford of the Aberdeenshire Loves Local Gift Card team said: “The Teacher of the Year competition is a chance to celebrate hard working teachers across the region.

“With the end of the school year approaching, what better time to nominate a teacher who has made a positive impact for pupils, their school or their community. There is a fantastic £1,250 in Aberdeenshire gift cards to be won. The Teacher of the Year could use their £500 gift card on meals out, pampering, shopping and more.

“The Teacher of the Year’s school could use their £500 gift card to treat the team to a social event, on supplies for a celebration party for pupils, on kit for after school clubs or another great cause. One person who nominated the winning teacher will also win a £250 Aberdeenshire Gift Card for themselves to spend as they choose. It takes just two minutes to nominate and we really hope to see a teacher from Aberdeenshire take the crown as Teacher of the Year.”

Colin Munro of Miconex which provides the technology for the Aberdeenshire Gift Card added: “Schools and teachers are at the heart of our communities, and our Teacher of the Year competition is a celebration of the teachers who are going above and beyond to educate, help and inspire young people. We’ll be telling the stories of the nominations as they come in, giving teachers the recognition they deserve.”
