View updates on coronavirus (COVID-19) and council services. A postcode checker has been launched to make it easy to find out what the COVID protection level is where you live. If you are affected and need assistance, please visit Grampian Coronavirus (COVID-19) Assistance Hub.
Please note that due to staff shortages, deliveries might take up to four weeks.
On this page you can find out how to order bins or bags for household waste and recycling collections.
You can request containers for mixed dry recycling or food waste from a domestic property for free. You can have more than one recycling bin and more than one food caddy.
New or replacement bin
You can get a black refuse bin for household use for a delivery and admin fee of £25.75. If you are in receipt of Housing Benefit or Council Tax benefit, you can get a black refuse bin for a discounted price of £10.30.
All bins belong to us but you can write the address of your property on the bin. If you move, the bin should stay at the delivery address due to differences in bin types across Aberdeenshire.
Additional capacity for refuse
We have a strict 1 refuse bin per household policy. However if you need additional capacity, you will need to demonstrate that you are recycling as much as possible, including food waste. We will conduct an audit of the contents of your refuse bin as part of the assessment process. All information provided will be confidential. Please contact Wasteline for details.
How to request
If you would like to request an additional recycling bin, you can do it online.
For any other bin requests (blue recycling bin, food caddy or black refuse bin) complete our waste and recycling containers form (pdf 168KB) and send it to:
Unit 7 Harlaw Way
Alternatively, you can contact us to make a bin request.
